The Lead Team Effectiveness unit is designed to enhance your leadership skills, focusing on building cohesive teams, effective communication, and resolving issues within your volunteer organisation. Leadership in Volunteer Environments - This module is designed to help you lead teams of staff and volunteers within volunteer organisations in Australia. This module delves into what it means to be a leader in a volunteer organisation, focusing on the unique challenges of volunteer organisations. You'll learn about the differences between teams and groups, the lifecycle of teams, and team dynamics.


Team Objectives and Work Processes - In this module, you'll explore how to create effective, cohesive teams at work. You'll learn about setting clear goals, aligning team efforts, team planning, and the art of communication with stakeholders. 


Team Innovation and Productivity - In this module, you'll learn to enhance team efficiency and creativity by embedding innovation and productivity measures into work plans. This module also covers maximising team potential, understanding and applying productivity measures, the essence of innovation, and integrating innovation into daily tasks. 


Managing Team Performance - In this module, you'll explore the distinction between leadership and management, exploring the qualities that define effective leaders. Through topics like the art of leadership, tips for leading teams, and effective performance planning, you'll learn how to guide your team towards achieving set outcomes.


Promoting Team Cohesion - In this module, you'll delve into methods to improve team unity and effectiveness. You'll discover how to motivate team members to take responsibility for their roles, support each other, and provide constructive feedback.


Supervising Team Performance - In this module, you'll tackle supervising team performance with a focus on fostering participation, responsibility, and resolving issues to enhance productivity. You'll learn how to encourage team engagement, support problem-solving, and model exemplary behaviour, setting a standard for your team. 


Liaising with Management - In this module, you'll learn how to establish and maintain effective communication between line management and your team. Starting with the basics of open communication, you'll explore how to relay information, address unresolved issues, and ensure that both team and management objectives are aligned. 


Resolving Issues - In this module, you'll discover strategies for addressing unresolved issues and communicating these issues to line management, as well as relaying management's decisions back to the team.
