Overview

Volunteering WA is delighted to share our second State of Volunteering Report. Western Australia's State of Volunteering Report is the result of the largest survey of volunteers and volunteer managers ever conducted in Western Australia. This report is for everyone involved in the volunteering ecosystem in WA and across Australia.

This Report is based on two surveys, one of the general public and one of the Western Australian Volunteer Managers and plays a vital role in telling the story of how volunteering is tracking in Western Australia. It provides information to answer four main questions from our unique, Western Australian, perspective:

  • Looking back, what has been our recent experience with volunteering?
  • What is our experience of volunteering today?
  • What is the economic value of volunteering in Western Australia today?
  • Looking forward, what is the outlook for the sector?

The 2023 State of Volunteering Report Full Report presents a detailed examination of the characteristics of volunteers and volunteer management in Western Australia. It highlights the strength of the volunteering sector, and the immense benefits that volunteering contributes to the state.

The 2023 State of Volunteering Report Key Findings are also available for download and viewing.
