Induction and Onboarding Volunteers

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 10:23 AM

There are 3 phases of volunteer onboarding: before, during, and after the volunteering commitment period.

Volunteer Managers can invite other volunteers, or volunteers who have retired, to assist with welcoming new volunteers onboard.

Volunteers need to feel welcomed and part of a team, even if their role is as an individual. If they are made to feel relaxed and know where to go if they have questions, they will enhance the work of the organisation and feel that they belong.

Efficient and effective induction and onboarding processes will maximise volunteer retention rates.

In this 1-hour webinar,
Ayse Dalkic, an experience Volunteer Manager and Project Manager at the Centre for Volunteering will take you through the best practices of onboarding and inducting your volunteers to ensure their volunteering journey gets off to a great start.
