Volunteer Pay Packet

Modified on Wed, 27 Nov, 2024 at 5:03 PM

A Volunteer Pay Packet is a visual aid of what your volunteers gain and what they lose with their volunteering.

Designing a Volunteer Pay Packet is an activity where you list the out the positives a volunteer gains from their involvement in the left hand column, and the negatives in the right hand column.

For the best results, consider asking your volunteers for their perspective.

Creating a Volunteer Pay Packet can be helpful for a number of reasons:

  • Retention: Understanding the give and take for each volunteer can help design volunteer retention strategies.
  • Effectiveness: Volunteers that feel valued and heard will work harder and are more likely to stay with the organisation
  • Community Engagement: Volunteers that feel valued are more likely to tell friends and family about their volunteer work which can help improve the organisations reputation and increase engagement from the community.
