Overview

Manage and Promote Diversity has been designed to give you a thorough understanding of workplace diversity and inclusion, covering essential aspects for creating a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment. The unit consists of various modules, each focusing on different aspects of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIBs). Starting with the basics of why diversity, belonging and inclusion are crucial for achieving organisational goals and how to collect and analyse diversity data, you'll develop the skills to evaluate and improve diversity initiatives.

As you progress through the modules, you'll explore the vital role of leadership in fostering an inclusive culture and learn practical strategies to respect and amplify the benefits of a diverse workforce. The curriculum also covers hands-on elements like creating effective communication strategies tailored to diverse needs and developing work practices that align with both legislative frameworks and organisational policies. Special emphasis is given to interactive communication methods, allyship, and promoting collaborative team dynamics, ensuring that diversity and inclusion principles are part of professional development.

You will also be guided through the process of designing and implementing robust diversity strategies. These strategies need to resonate with the organisational culture while meeting the standards set by relevant regulations and societal expectations. By the end, you'll not only understand the importance of diversity, belonging and inclusion, but also be capable of leading initiatives that leverage the power of diversity to create an environment where everyone can thrive.

These modules have been designed with consideration to the performance criteria outlined in training package CHCDIV003 - Manage and Promote Diversity.
