Embrace Mental Health 

Embrace Multicultural Mental Health (the Embrace Project) is run by Mental Health Australia and provides a national focus on mental health and suicide prevention for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. 


It provides a national platform for Australian mental health services and multicultural communities to access resources, link to services and information in a culturally accessible format.

Lifeline 

For non-English speakers - can be accessed for free via Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 131 450 (not the main number for English-speakers i.e. 13 11 14)



Suicide Callback service

Call the main number i.e. 1300 659 467 and request Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS). TIS officers are bound by privacy legislation to protect clients’ rights

This Way Up 

This Way Up was jointly designed and developed by Professor Gavin Andrews and his team of psychiatrists and clinical psychologists at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. As a non-profit initiative, This Way Up is sponsored by the Australian Government and the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.


This Way Up has produced multiple resources on some simple coping tools and worksheets. They have been translated into a number of languages, including Mandarin.
